Why are so many retiree's moving to Thailand from the UK?

Many years ago, it was a very rare thing to fly the other side of the world for a holiday, however, nowadays, people often go overseas regularly for holiday's and for work. We asked the Managing Director of Sunshine International , a brand new Retirement and nursing home in Hua Hin, Thailand, has there been any interest from the UK?

Andrew Stocks said up to date there has been lots of interest from the UK. Andrew went on to say that people moving into an elderly home in the UK are faced with forever increasing fee's that are putting a heavy strain on the whole family.

Also the weather in the UK is often so bad it is not convenient for elderly people to get out and therefore they stay indoors at home and this makes the days so long and boring. One of the biggest silent killers is loneliness.

Living in Thailand with sunshine almost everyday of the year, it adds years to your life. Thailand is a very much an outdoor life, and it is so easy to go out everyday and enjoy the sunshine and of course the exercise helps so much.

So many people from the UK move to Thailand with diseases like Arthritis, and where they are crippled at home in the UK, very often the sunshine and warm weather keeps it under control and they feel much better. Andrew has known some people to move to Thailand in a wheel chair and after two months they don't use the wheel chair any more!

Another attraction is the Thai service and the standard of the properties. Very often, just like Sunshine International in Hua Hin, the property is a luxury property built around beautiful tropical gardens and a swimming pool. Thailand has some of the best hospitals in the world, and the Thai service is second to none.

Very often in the UK two or three people have to share one room, but at Sunshine International each guest has their own private suite with their own modern kitchen, living room and balcony overlooking the pool.

The biggest attraction by far is the price of staying at such a property as Sunshine International. Sunshine International is offering a first class apartment overlooking the pool from just 29,990 Thai Baht (£799) per month. This prices includes such things as nurses on call 24 Hours, Thai massages, pedicures and manicure and more!

We asked them is it possible to have a full board quotation and Andrew replied we reccomend for the majority of guest not to book full board. We want our guest to get out as often as they can. Get out each day is a great way to stop the boredom, get some exercise, and meet some new people. Sunshine International has a VIP Mini bus to take them into the city where they can find so many different style restaurants. The VIP bus makes a small charge of just 50 Baht, just over £1 :00.

Andrew believes more and more retiree's will move to Thailand in the future because of so many attractions.
